The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu ends her season and plans to retain trainer into the 2026 season.
The British player reached the third round in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments during the season.
Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her final two events in 2025 as a result of a medical condition that has affected her for the last week and a half.
The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to rest and recuperate before starting next year's training.
These plans will include trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.
Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.
She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.
Her movement was noticeably restricted in the final set versus Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.
Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.
She held three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.
Raducanu won 28 victories during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.
As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament prior to a loss in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.
She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open.
The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions late this year.
Raducanu told that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.
She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August.
Roig joined her in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
