Trent Alexander-Arnold's comeback is advancing smoothly, giving possibility that the Real Madrid defender might be fit soon enough to play against his previous team Liverpool in the upcoming European tie.

The 27-year-old international experienced a hamstring injury while playing against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch in the early stages, with early reports pointing to a possible layoff of up to a month and a half.

Real Madrid are scheduled to visit Liverpool on November 4 for the Champions League fixture—just over a month since the injury took place.

Reports close to the situation suggest that the defender's healing process is moving along favorably, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold might make his first appearance to Anfield after joining Real Madrid in June.

A devoted Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier said that leaving the club he entered as a young youth player was the "toughest choice he's ever taken."

During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold accumulated over 350 games, contributing to secure multiple English top-flight championships, a European Cup, and the domestic cup.

After joining to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has appeared five times across all competitions, logging over two and a half hours of game time.
