The tenth week again delivered, with a major surprise for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many people into the National Football League

This outcome could have created opportunities for the New England Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a schedule that gives them an advantage over their 8-2 competitors

Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a monster clash next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award

Analysis - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Did Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a poor performance for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to answer

The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a row against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and display

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the squad's opening first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had 10 days to prepare but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the league's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two scores

Containing the league's best rushing attack was crucial too, with Cook and teammates recording just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5 yard average

Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into seven points just two plays

It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen attempting to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - rather than the calm, controlled, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season

Miami have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the start of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay next week as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East

In Focus - Patriots Identify Route to Unexpected First Place

Regarding the Patriots, they're one of three 8-2 teams in the league, all AFC sides, but could they be the top team?

You can pick holes in New England, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their total 24 victories coming against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis defeating the Broncos

The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their prime time success in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration

Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight wins, similar to the Broncos, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was huge

Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he certainly earns point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to steer his team to success

The defensive unit is reliable and rookie rusher Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exciting touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different runner to exceed 22mph this season on his initial touchdown

Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the top record due to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a successful opponent, although a significant contest against the Bills

Traveling to the Ravens is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Colts also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There is a long way to go but the opportunity is open for a shock top seed in the AFC

Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Week 11 Showdown

Two teams with solid claims to be superior to all of the three 8-2 teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who each put up forty points to reach 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in Los Angeles

Both have won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with top receivers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a contest

Both could realistically be undefeated as well - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown

The Seahawks were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly two of the best sides in the NFL

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the season so far

Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
